Independence is a Planned Unit Development (PUD). Independence stands out from the traditional neighborhoods in the SW Orlando area, as a result of the extent of preserved conservation areas, 1100 acres of lakes, 658 acres of parks and planned ammenities in comparison to other area communities in Orlando. There is no other community in this area that compares to Independence! |

A future entrance to the 429 expressway is planned in the community. The entrance ramp is already there, but does not yet connect to Independence. Some of the ammenities include 14' walking/biking paths, a community pool, tot lot, a future boat ramp, future tennis & basketball courts as well as another pool, sidewalks & streetlights as well as other ammenities. Community social activities are beginning to be organized for neighbors to attend.
